This longspine waspfish lives in groups on black coral and hydroids. It is very shy and hides as soon as it conceives some movement. I found it on the Kogyo Maru wreck in Palawan (Philippines). I was astonished to find a waspfish hiding in black corals, because I have seen this species of waspfish more photos see below) always on sand or rubble. I am not sure, if this might be a different species.

Ich fand diesen Langstrahlen Stirnflosser als Teil einer Gruppe in einem grossen Busch von Schwarzen Korallen, der mit Hydrozoen überwachsen war. Diese Art ist sehr scheu und versteckt sich sofort, sobald man sich nähert. Eigentlich findet man diese Art von Stirnflosser eher auf Geröll oder Sand, ich frage mich deshalb, ob das Tier auf dem Foto zu einer noch unbekannte Art gehören könnte.
