Starfish Updates

62th update March-May 2017

My fish section has been updated and hundreds of new images added. Look at the new photos of the Rhinopias scorpionfish (over 170 images!) or the many gobies and blennies. Last year I saw several thresher shark close by, mantas and eagle rays just a few meters away, and seahorses and the colorful Mandarinfishes (juveniles!).
Some new images of jellyfishes, nudibranchs (the cryptic Melibe colmani!).

Meine Fisch-Seiten wurden mit mehreren hundert neuen Fotos aktualisiert. Die wunderschönen Rhinopias Skorpionfische (über 170 Fotos!) und viele neue Grundeln und Schleimfische. Letztes Jahr sah ich auch mehrere Fuchshaie sehr nah sowie Mantas und Adlerrochen nur einige Meter entfernt, Seepferdchen und farbige Mandarinfiche (Jungtiere!).
Dazu auch einige neue Bilder von Quallen, Nacktschnecken (die seltene Melibe colmani!)

2016: Of course I have added quite a lot of new images during this year, but I also updated my page about diving in Alor (Eastern Indonesia) with new maps and mor information about dive sites.

2016: Ich habe natürlich auch dieses Jahr viele neue Fotos online gestellt, aber vor allem die Seiten über das Tauchen in Alor (Ostindonesien) aktualisiert. Bessere Karte und mehr Informationen zu den Tauchplätzen.

61th update December 2015 (about 640'000 visitors)

Based on the book "Nudibranch and Sea Slug Identification, Indo-Pacific" by Goslinger / Valdés / Behrens and WoRMS (World Register of Marine Species) I rechecked all Latin names of nudibranchs and sea slugs...!!! Many names have changed. For example Chromodoris-species (to Goniobranchus), Risbecia (to Hypselodoris), Glossodoris (to Doriprismatica), some Ceratosoma (to Miamira)

Auf Basis des Buches "Nudibranch and Sea Slug Identification, Indo-Pacific" von Goslinger / Valdés / Behrens und WoRMS (World Register of Marine Species) habe ich alle lateinischen Namen von Nacktschnecken und Meeresschnecken angepasst....!!!! Sehr viele Namen haben vor kurzem geändert, unter anderem viele Chromodoris-Arten (zu Goniobranchus), Risbecia (zu Hypselodoris), Glossodoris (zu Doriprismatica), einige Ceratosoma (zu Miamira)

Finally got around to change all Latin names to italic (lots of work!!)
Lots of new pictures from Papua New Guinea and Ambon (Indonesia) - for example the walking shark and Wobbegong (both on this page), but also lots of pictures of small critters like the Hairy Shrimp, the Bumblebee Shrimp (both on this page) or the Pygmy Squid (here).
Some changes with my starting page. Trying to fix the drop-down menu, but it doesn't work on Firefox, only on the Internet Explorer - sorry.

Bin endlich dazu gekommen, alle lateinischen Namen auf kursiv zu ändern (sehr viel Arbeit, also habe ich es immer vor mich hergeschoben!!)
Viele neue Fotos aus Papua Neuguinea und Ambon (Indonesia) - etwa der Epauletten-Hai und der Wobbegong (beide auf dieser Seite), aber auch winzige Viecher wie etwa die Haarige Garnele, die Hummelgarnele (beide auf dieser Seite) oder die Pygmäen Kalmare (hier)
Änderungen an meiner Startseite. Leider geht das Drop-Down-Menü nicht auf Firefox, nur auf dem Internet Explorer.

I was busy, so no updates for a year - but as of September 2014 my frogfish book is online!

I dived for the first time in Oman and liked it a lot. Description of the dive sites around the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve with lots maps and new photos taken there. Enjoy it!

In 2011 I added some photos to this site, but mostly worked on my other website www.frogfish.ch - now also with over 1300 photos from all over the world. Now in May-June I finally got around to add all the fish photos (490 images) I made last summer in Indonesia. Enjoy...

I uploaded all my fish photos from my dive trips to Indonesia (spring and summer 09) - some really good shots among them! Now I will start on the invertebrates....!
